hand to hand combat with weapons

I suddenly had a moment where everything had become so clear, like the whole convoluted universe suddenly made perfect sense. I havnt become awakened, I realised I have been using my shortsword improperly. Previously ive giving myself 5 dice, strength + weaponary + shortsword specialty of +1, so 2+2+1. What I should have been doing, is strength + weaponary + specialty + weapon damage mod, which would be 2+2+1+3!!! No wonder my giant wolf hardly dented anyone, i should have been adding +3 at least for massive claws.

This should also have a drastic effect on the effectiveness for my strategy for the next battle.

Presumably all you guys have been adding your weapon damage mod?

Funnily enough I havent been adding my bow's damage modifier. I've had a read and I believe my bow's base dmg is equal to my strength so that would mean a +2.

Isn't your sword silver though Ryan? Which gives a -1 to its usual dice mod for that weapon as silver is an unsuitable metal for a weapon ( I can't remember where I read it in WoD but I know its in there XD) for example a iron dagger is +1 where as a silver dagger is +0

Nah, it's just down as a shortsword. It's material isn't specified so it's default, which I think would be iron

Yeah my armor gives me +1 dice mod
